The growing community of Epping is located in the Seacoast region of NH just about 15 minutes from the ocean and 30 minutes north of the Massachusett border in Rockingham County.  Epping includes the crossroads of Route 101 and Calef Highway (Route 125).  This location is very convenient for driving to Hampton Beach in 15-20 minutes, Manchester-Boston Regional Airport in about 25 minutes, Boston in just a little over one hour, and Alton Bay, the southern tip of Lake Winnipesaukee, in an hour.  Great skiing is as close as a 50-minute drive.  Around town from Spring through Fall, you might see people fishing along the edge of the Lamprey River from West Epping to downtown.  In the spring many from the community will line up along the river to watch the Epping Canoe Race.  Both I-95 and I-93 are about 15-20 minutes away.  Epping may not be the infamous “Center of the Universe” but it can boast location, location, location for commuters and anyone that wants to explore the region.  Epping was incorporated as a separate town in 1741 and has a population of about 7,045 (2018). Being the home of three NH governors there is some rich history in Epping NH.  See the Community Profile for more statistics and details.
